Novembers Beauty
|
I love the months of October and November with the smell of fallen leaves and the earth on a warm fall day. The colors at this time of the year are some of my favorites and I am inspired by the golden tones with touches of orange and burgundy. Even the crunch of the leaves beneath my feet makes my heart light. Autumn passes way to quickly for me so I try to savor every moment and drink from its beauty.

Dream, Awaken
|
"Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart ...
Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens."
- Carl Jung
The above quote was my inspiration for my new piece 'Dream, Awaken' which was created on a 5 x 5 inch gallery wrap canvas using mixed media of acrylic inks, gouache, colored pencil and collage paper.
You can read about the process of creating this piece on my blog. Click here.
You can purchase 'Dream Awaken' from my web site using paypal.

Mandala Fun
|
You should never go camping unprepared and that is just about what I had done a few weeks ago with Maureen. I forgot the the one most important item my Ott Light. Yes my intention was to do some art while at the cabin which by the way turned out to be wonderful with full accommodations except internet and cell phone reception. But we did have Direct TV! We only turned it on late night.
So what to do when it is raining and cloudy with minimal lighting? We colored mandalas. My sister and Jean brought mandalas to color so we sat at the kitchen island coloring. Amazing how different the same design can turn out colored by different people. You find yourself going into a zen like zone coloring and blending watching life go into each design. I kept thinking I could design a mandala and so I created my first design and come winter I'll be designing more.
Now I want to share with you! Download the design, print it out and have some fun coloring with pencils or markers.
